Julie Holderman
Hello, I’m Julie Holderman, founder of Able Readers. I am a third generation educator who became frustrated with my lack of ability to help struggling readers within the confines of a traditional school setting. After working as a reading specialist and learning about effective ways to help students read, I decided to partner with Lexercise Literacy Therapy to provide one on one reading instruction to my clients. My clients and I have been pleased by the results.
“Julie is an amazing therapist. My son can’t wait until his sessions. He loves working with her. That says a lot because he doesn’t like schoolwork. My son has ADHD and she is able to keep his attention.”
Elizabeth Gullatt, B.S.
Hello, my name is Elizabeth Gullatt.
During my teaching career, I noticed early on the need for a stronger foundation in phonics and reading instruction. The principle of the Simple View of Reading, where students learn to read by decoding and understanding written language, can effectively bridge that gap from learning to read to reading to learn. When the literacy foundations of phonemic awareness, phonics, and vocabulary are properly nurtured, fluency and comprehension naturally follow. Early identification of dyslexia was one of the many reading issues that ignited my passion and desire to help struggling students become successful readers. Strong readers can excel in all subjects! I chose Lexercise Structured Literacy because it is an effective and proven multisensory program that successfully bridges the gap and fosters confidence in struggling readers.
“I highly recommend Mrs. Beth Gullatt. I have worked with her for many years, and she is diligent, knowledgeable, and relational with her students. She knows how to connect with students and parents alike. Her aim is to assist all types of learners to learn and be successful. You will find no greater teacher/tutor.”
